Name Finder

Privacy

Last updated: 19 June 2026

Name Finder stores favourites in localStorage on your device so your shortlist can persist between visits. Share links place selected filters in the page URL, so do not include anything sensitive in optional fields such as surname, sibling names, or avoid names if you plan to share the link.

Google Analytics is optional. It only loads after you choose Accept analytics in the cookie banner or cookie settings panel. If you reject analytics, Name Finder does not load the Google Analytics tag or send analytics events.

Analytics helps us understand which pages and tools are useful so we can improve the site. After acceptance, Google Analytics may receive page visits, approximate device and browser information, referral source, and interaction events such as generating names, copying a share link, or using shortlist tools.

Name Finder does not intentionally send entered baby names, surnames, sibling names, avoid-list text, shortlist contents, copied share URLs, or other free-text generator input to Google Analytics. Analytics is not used for advertising in this implementation.

You can change your decision at any time with Cookie settings in the footer. If you switch analytics off, future analytics events stop and Name Finder attempts to remove known first-party Google Analytics cookies such as _ga and _ga_* from the browser. This does not delete data that may already have been transmitted after prior consent.

Cookie and storage summary

Strictly necessary storage: Name Finder stores your analytics consent preference locally using namefinder_cookie_consent_v1. This preference does not contain user-identifying data.

Optional analytics cookies: Google Analytics cookies are used only after you accept analytics. Advertising storage, ad user data, and ad personalization are set to denied.
